When it comes to creating an environmentally-friendly cloth diaper, LolliDoo is certainly an industry leader. LolliDoo focuses on creating a minimal environmental impact in every aspect of business; from materials, to manufacturing, to distribution, to finding a way to recycle the diaper when it’s no longer useful. Alison and Melissa, the owners of LolliDoo, use such a thoughtful approach to their business, you can’t help but feel good using their products.
LolliDoo cloth diapers are made from EcoSpun recycled fabric and each cloth diaper keeps at least 6 plastic bottles out of a landfill. The recycling of PET (used to make EcoSpun) saves millions of barrels of oil each year and reduces virgin oil consumption. So, when you use a LolliDoo diaper, you’re not only keeping disposable diapers out of landfills, but contributing to the environment in other significant ways.
Amazingly, while the fabrics used in LolliDoo diapers are good for the earth, they’re also good for baby. No PUL is used in LolliDoo diapers. Instead, the EcoSpun fabric wicks moisture away from the skin toward the breathable outer layer. This means air circulates to dry an accumulating moisture and baby stays dry, even overnight.
Alison and Melissa have also worked to source all of their manufacturing domestically and their diapers are sewn by local WAHMs in Washington State. They say that their diapers are sewn while babies nap and I think that creates a beautiful image. The company’s high environmental standards, desire to remain domestic, and support of WAHMs are reflected in the price of their diapers, but the quality is certainly worth the price.
I had the opportunity to review a Lollioo Overnight Eco Pocket a few years ago, but I haven’t had the chance to try a LolliDuo. This means I’ll be very envious of the winner of the LolliDuo, an innovative one-size diaper that can be used as a traditional pocket, a diaper cover, or a cover that is stuffable for extra absorbency. They can be used with a fitted, flat, prefold, or cotton inserts and come in a gorgeous combination of colors. I also love that they come in snaps or aplix and are a great day or overnight option.
This graphic does an excellent job of detailing the Lolliduo’s features:

I remember these coming out when Lu was a babe. I crushed on them so hard but couldn’t justify the cost. Winning would be nice 🙂
